Situated within a few minutes walk of the glorious and expansive white sandy beach, which stretches from Vila Real de Santo Antonio to Cacela Velha, is the exclusive development of Casas da Audiencia.
The development is located between the towns of Monte Gordo and Altura in the unspoiled Eastern Algarve. It is the ideal setting for those who enjoy the beach and want to be close enough to the night life of the nearby beach bars and restaurants, but far enough away to avoid the summer crowds. Casas da Audiencia is also close to lovely golf courses, scenic tourist drives and on the edge of a large nature reserve, with designated nature trails and bird watching facilities.
Casas da Audiencia is made up of approximately 250 privately owned villas with direct access to the beach, (on foot or by car) and is close to all local amenities, as well as the surrounding towns of Monte Gordo, Altura, Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Castro Marim, Vila Nova de Cacela and Manta Rota. It is also approximately 10 to 15 minutes away from Spain and 15 to 20 minutes away from the larger historical town of Tavira.
The area has a café, a small local shop which stocks most essentials and an onsite bakery which is open from early morning until late at night, during the summer months.
Towards the beach there is a pine-forested national park with a lake, which is home to many local and migratory birds and is a favourite for many birdwatchers. The park is also ideal for walking or a bike ride into the town of Monte Gordo.

Whilst some of the villas and town houses are permanently occupied, many owners in the Casas da Audiencia development rent their villas and town houses out for the summer or even winter periods.
High season starts on the 1st of June and ends at the end of September, and in this period, the flux of tourism increases considerably. The Spring and Autumn are the favourite season for many athletes to train at the International sports facilities in Vila Real de Santo Antonio with pleasant temperatures.
Similarly many retired people rent villas for longer periods off season, to escape the cold winters at home.
