Athletics and Sport Centre

Close to Casas da Audiencia is the IAAF, and Portuguese Olympic Committee, accredited sports complex of Vila Real de Santo Antonio. The modern facilities at the complex, and the mild Algarve climate, provide an ideal training environment and attract top athletes from October to May. It also attracts a number of professional teams and both national and international squads to the region.

There is an athletics track with 8 lanes, together with indoor training facilities and a gym with Olympic free weights. Jumping facilities and dedicated throwing facilities are also available, among many other sports sectors of the most diverse modalities.

The surrounding area also benefits from exceptional natural conditions where there are over 12km of off road tracks that can be found in the pine forests that lie between Casas da Audiencia, Monte Gordo and Vila Real de Santo Antonio.

This makes the Sport Complex one of the most highly regarded training facilities in Southern Europe.
